It is not permissible or lawful to say, "Ali is the Prophet of Allah," because this contradicts the explicit text of the Noble Qur'an: ("Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.") And also due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement to Ali: "Are you not pleased to be to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there will be no prophet after me?" Whoever believes this has committed major disbelief, expelling them from the fold of Islam.
