The answer

The Quran was revealed for the accountable among the two weighty beings (humans and jinn). If plants were accountable, they would have been greatly affected by the Quran, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and split asunder from fear of Allah.﴾ Plants are submissive to Allah and glorify Him with His praise, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿And there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise; but you understand not their glorification.﴾ They prostrate to Him, as in His saying: ﴿Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the moving creatures?﴾ There is no impediment to there being a blessing in plants when the Quran is recited over them, because the Quran is blessed.
