Was Jesus, peace be upon him, born on the day the Christians celebrate?

There is no text that proves or disproves whether Jesus (peace be upon him) was born in summer or winter. However, some researchers believe he was born in summer, citing the availability of fresh dates (rutab) at the time of his birth, which are a summer fruit. Many commentators, on the other hand, believe that the presence of dates could have been a miracle. They also argue that shepherds were tending their flocks at night, whereas the cold of December in the Levant is severe.
