To what extent is the hadith "Softly with Allah, softly, for were it not for bowing elders, humble youth, suckling infants, and grazing animals, He would pour down torment upon you" authentic? And does it have an authentic chain of transmission? And what is the meaning of "Softly with Allah, softly"?

The aforementioned Hadith: "Be lenient from Allah, be lenient. Were it not for humble youth, bowing elders, suckling infants, and grazing animals, punishment would be poured upon you intensely," was deemed weak by its verifier, Sheikh Hussein Al-Assad, who cited Al-Haythami and Al-Hafiz for its weakening, and attributed its defect to Ibrahim bin Khuthaym. Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Al-Sunan," and Ibn Al-Turkumani said: "Ibrahim bin Khuthaym is not strong, and it has a supporting narration with another weak chain of transmission." The commentators did not address the phrase "Be lenient from Allah, be lenient," and its apparent meaning is not to hasten punishment due to disobedience. Al-Haythami titled a chapter in "Al-Majma'": "Chapter: Were it not for the people of obedience, the people of disobedience would have perished."
