The son's daughter does not inherit when there is a direct son of the deceased. It is commendable for the grandfather to bequeath to her a third of his wealth or less. If he does not make a will, it is commendable for the heirs to give her something, according to the Almighty's saying: "And when [other] relatives and orphans and the needy are present at the time of distribution, then provide them [something] out of it and speak to them words of appropriate kindness."
