What is the ruling on an accountant paying for breakfast and lunch invoices for the auditing team at his workplace, based on instructions from others and not from him personally?

It is not permissible for the employer to offer food to the oversight team, as it constitutes prohibited bribery and embezzlement. Gifts given to employees are considered betrayal. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of bribery. Such gifts lead to favoritism and overlooking shortcomings. It is not permissible to assist in bribery in any form. One must refrain from it and advise the employer. If it is not possible to continue working without assisting in bribery, then it is not permissible to remain in that job. "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect."
