Is it permissible for a divorced woman observing her 'iddah to expel her divorced husband, who is also observing his 'iddah, from the marital home during the 'iddah period, given that he is fulfilling his duties, and is it permissible to call the police to expel him?

If the marital home is owned by the husband or rented to him, the divorced woman observing her 'iddah (waiting period) does not have the right to expel the husband from it. Rather, she has the right to reside in it as long as she is in her 'iddah, to facilitate her return to him. Allah Almighty says: "Do not expel them from their homes, nor should they leave, unless they commit a clear immorality." (65:1) However, if the house is owned by the woman, she may prevent him from residing with her, but it is preferable to convince him of this without involving the police. She must also prevent him from being alone with her if she is irrevocably divorced.
