What is the ruling on using an asthma inhaler seven to ten times daily in Ramadan, knowing that I suffer from chronic asthma and cannot make up the days I missed fasting? Is it permissible to offer a financial fidya to feed the poor in Palestine?

We ask Allah to grant you a speedy recovery. If the inhaler you use to treat asthma contains dissolved substances that reach the throat and the internal cavity, it is considered to break the fast. Since your condition is chronic and you cannot fast without using the inhaler, you are considered to have a continuous inability to fast, and you are required to pay a fidyah for each day of Ramadan. The amount is 750 grams of rice for one day, and you can send the value of the fidyah to someone who can purchase it and give it to those in need in your country.
