What is the ruling on prayer, ablution, and ritual purity when a yellow discharge exits the vagina? Is it impure or does it nullify ablution? And what is the ruling on the ritual purity of clothes and bedding that come into contact with this fluid due to involuntary scratching during sleep?

Scholars have differed concerning the discharges that issue from women. The preponderant opinion for us is that the discharges issuing from the birth canal are pure in all cases, and those issuing from the urinary opening are impure. Both, however, nullify ablution (wudu’). The impure discharges, according to those who hold them to be impure, necessitate washing whatever they have stained of clothing or body before prayer. As for scratching the private parts and the hand becoming stained with discharges, it is not necessary to wash the hand or whatever it has stained of body or clothes, because they are pure according to the preponderant opinion. What issues due to scratching during sleep might be semen (maniyy). If you know it is semen, then you must perform a ritual bath (ghusl) because of it. There is no need to wash what it has stained of body or clothing, as the preponderant opinion is that semen is pure.
