Is it permissible to buy products from communist China?

Manufactured goods can be classified into three categories:

1. Alcohol, drugs, and the like: These are forbidden by the consensus of Muslims, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing to] stone altars, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. Satan only wants to cause animosity and hatred between you through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 90-91].

2. Meats and their derivatives: If they are from land animals and manufactured in communist countries, they are forbidden.

3. All other manufactured goods: These are permissible according to all scholars, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 29]. And based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has enjoined duties, so do not neglect them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; and He has remained silent about things, out of mercy for you, not out of forgetfulness, so do not inquire about them." Seafood is included in this category, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying about the sea: "Its water is pure, and its dead are lawful." There is no harm in purchasing and importing this category from non-Muslim countries.
