Is the father sinful if he lies to his daughter about his love for her sisters, in order to avoid hatred, or is this considered permissible lying?

There is no sin upon one who lies in a way that pleases his wife and does not hurt his sister-in-law, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "The liar is not he who reconciles between people, saying good things or conveying good things." Lying has been permitted in three instances: reconciling between people, in war, and a man's conversation with his wife and a wife's conversation with her husband. This is a form of lying to prevent animosity between the two sisters, so it falls under the meaning of reconciling between people. It is preferable to use equivocation and insinuation rather than outright lying. However, some scholars have permitted outright lying in this situation due to the great benefit derived from it. Al-Tabari holds that the permissible lying encompasses all meanings of lying, and it is permissible to say what did not happen if there is a benefit in it, for blameworthy lying is that which causes harm to Muslims.
