Is there a religious text that prohibits a menstruating woman from attending or washing the deceased?

There is no Qur'anic verse that prohibits a menstruating woman from washing a deceased person or attending their washing, nor is there any prophetic tradition to that effect. None of the scholars have forbidden it. However, some of the Salaf, such as Al- and Ibn Sirin, disliked it.
