The aforementioned supplication has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Al-Albani graded it as weak. What has been authentically reported in sound hadiths, which protect the Muslim, suffices in its place, such as reciting the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah every night, and the supplication for distress: "There is no god but Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing...", and reciting Surat Al-, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas before sleeping.
