Who are the scholars and preachers whom it is recommended to listen to and emulate in the current era, and who are those whom it is not recommended to listen to, in light of the extensive discourse on al-Jarh wal-Ta'deel (discrediting and attesting to the reliability of narrators)?

The Rabbinic scholars are distinguished by their adherence to the Qur'an and Sunnah in word and deed, their commitment to the methodology of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions, and their rejection of innovations and superstitions from the religion. They bear knowledge and defend it from the distortion of the extremists, the imposture of the falsehoods, and the misinterpretation of the ignorant.

As for the evil scholars and callers to misguidance, they are the opposite: they differ from and contradict the Book, they speak in ambiguities, they confuse people, they innovate and distort texts, and they buy this world with religion. They may enjoin good but not practice it, and forbid evil but commit it. One must be wary of them because they may lead people astray.
