Can a young man who used to manage his father's restaurant be forgiven and have his sin absolved, given that a quarrel broke out between him and his father over his younger brother's request for food, which led to him uttering abusive words towards his father, and this caused his mother's death due to a rise in her blood pressure after hearing the quarrel, knowing that he was devoted to her?

One must offer sincere repentance and seek forgiveness from the father for raising one's voice against him, as this is among the gravest forms of disobedience to parents ( 'uquq ). One should also have ceased the argument out of consideration for the mother, but if there was no intention to harm her, then there is no blame. As for the lack of success in provision (rizq), it may or may not be due to the mother's supplication, and one should strive and seek Allah's help. It is permissible for the father to take from his son's wealth under certain conditions, and it is better to help the father and be patient with him, as this may be a reason for the doors of provision to open, while advising fathers not to burden their children with requests.
