What are the remembrances (adhkar) and supplications (du'as) that a Muslim can consistently recite after sincere repentance?
The remembrances (adhkar) and supplications (du'as) related to repentance include: "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy," and "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs." Among the greatest of them is Sayyid al-Istighfar (the master of seeking forgiveness): "O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You...," and "O Allah, forgive me my mistakes, my ignorance, and my excesses in my affairs...," and "My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Most Forgiving, the Accepter of Repentance," which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to repeat one hundred times in a single sitting.
