Is it permissible for the person afflicted with waswas (obsessive doubts/thoughts) to adopt the rukhṣ (religious dispensations) and taysīrāt (facilitations) in Islamic law to avoid relapsing into waswas?

One who is afflicted with waswasah (obsessive whisperings) is permitted to adopt the easiest of scholarly opinions. His affliction with waswasah is an excuse that allows him to take the easier path. As long as he is not certain that the waswasah has ceased, he may follow the scholarly opinions that alleviate his burden, until Allah grants him healing. If he is completely cured of the waswasah, then his ruling in matters of scholarly disagreement is the same as that of an ordinary person who is not afflicted with waswasah.
