If you made a covenant with your Lord to stop watching TV series, then you watched them with the intention of arousing desire for masturbation, an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat ) is incumbent upon you. However, if you watched them merely for informational purposes, no expiation is incumbent upon you. It should be noted that watching such TV series and movies is forbidden, as is masturbation. Fulfilling a covenant is obligatory, especially with Allah Almighty.
