The question

Is it possible to continue and not interrupt the prayer when one laughs during it, given the repeated occurrence of this despite attempts at devotion and the inability to prevent it, and is this laughter treated in the same manner as سلس (incontinence)?

The answer

Laughter invalidates the prayer if it is audible and two letters are uttered. However, if it is merely a smile without sound, it does not invalidate it.

If laughter overwhelms the worshipper to the extent that he cannot suppress it, his prayer is not invalidated. This is considered, by some jurists, similar to the case of continuous incontinence.

The worshipper must ponder and reflect on what he recites, sense the majesty of the standing, and address this by consulting a psychiatrist or specialist if necessary.
