Does sincere repentance erase previous sins? What is the way to draw closer to Allah and increase His love? What is the ruling on prayers performed while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) when one is unable to perform ghusl, and how are they to be accounted for?

Sincere repentance erases all sins. A Muslim must persist in repentance, even if the sin is repeated. To draw closer to Allah and increase His love, you must worship Him by reading the Quran, performing obligatory and supererogatory prayers, and avoiding disobedience. If obedience to parents by foregoing ritual bathing is based on a genuine fear of harm that justifies tayammum (dry ablution), then tayammum is permissible and the prayer is valid. However, if there is no justification, then prayer without ghusl (ritual bathing) is invalid and must be repeated. A Muslim must estimate the number of missed prayers and make them up.
