Is it permissible for a man to undergo a vasectomy if contraceptive methods are not suitable for his wife, knowing that it is possible to restore the ability to procreate later?

If the purpose of ligating the vas deferens is to permanently prevent procreation without a legitimate necessity or Sharia-compliant need, then it is impermissible. However, if the intention is temporary regulation, or if there is a considerable necessity, such as fear for the mother's life, then it is permissible. A condition for the permissibility of ligating the vas deferens is that it must not result in permanent harm to the woman, and that the restoration of reproductive capability must be possible whenever desired. Otherwise, it is impermissible, based on the hadith: "There should be neither harm nor reciprocal harm."
