How sound is the aforementioned hadith narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the Messenger of Allah's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying about the Mowali or the A'ajim (non-Arabs): "By Allah, I trust them more than I trust you, or some of you"?

The aforementioned hadith is weak. Its defect lies with Salih ibn Mihran, the mawla of Amr ibn Hurayth, who is also known as Salih, the mawla of Abu Salih. Ibn Ma'in declared him weak, and An-Nasa'i said, "Unknown." Ibn Hibban said, "He is among those who make mistakes and are confused, to the extent that what he narrates, especially when it contradicts reliable narrators, should not be used as evidence." Sheikh Al-Albani also declared it weak.
