This money was obtained in exchange for a forbidden benefit, so it is not permissible to return it to them, lest they profit from their sinful intention while also recovering their money. Nor is it permissible for the woman to possess this money. Instead, she must spend it on general Muslim welfare, such as orphanages or for the poor and needy.
