What is the ruling on the wife's dowry being the husband's gift to her of a copy of the Qur'an, given that there is a deferred dowry to be paid in the event of divorce?

The majority of scholars hold that the dowry must be valuable property, and it is permissible for it to be a service or benefit. The Qur'an (Mushaf) is considered valuable property, and its buying and selling are permissible according to the majority of scholars, because prohibiting its sale might prevent people from benefiting from it. The mentioned verse pertains to those who distort the Book of Allah for worldly gains and does not apply to the selling of Qur'ans. Therefore, it is permissible for the dowry to be a Qur'an or for the man to teach his wife the Qur'an.
