Is it true that God's preservation of the religion makes proselytizing for it a pointless endeavor?
The response to anyone who denies the role of means (asbab) is that denying them is a deviation in religion and foolishness in intellect. Allah has guaranteed the preservation of the religion through means, by spreading its callers and explaining it to people. This is like someone who says: "Do not marry, and you will have a child," or "Do not strive to seek provision, and it will come to you." Allah Almighty's preservation of the religion, as stated in His words: (Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its Guardian) Al-Hijr/9, is only realized through means. That is why the scholars of the Salaf defended and clarified the religion. Therefore, we must defend, protect, and spread the religion.
