Is my work in the field of media program production permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram), knowing that I sought Allah's guidance (istikhara) before starting it?
If a woman's image appears in video programs, her work is impermissible. However, if her image does not appear and she participates with her voice or in production, then for her work to be permissible, the content of the programs must be permissible and free from promoting forbidden things. Also, the work must be exclusively among women, while she adheres to the hijab and avoids anything that incites fitna (strife/temptation), and she must not soften her voice when addressing men. If these conditions are not met, then the work is forbidden, and the money earned from it is unlawful and must be spent on general Muslim welfare. It is better for a Muslim woman to stay in her home unless there is a need for money. We advise against this type of work because fulfilling these conditions is difficult to achieve. Istikhara (seeking guidance from Allah) is not performed for evil matters or sins.
