Is it permissible to contract a marriage with a Christian woman who refuses to embrace Islam and adhere to its rituals at the present time, and insists that the contract be on Sunday?

If a Kitābī (People of the Book) woman is chaste, there is no impediment for the mosque administration to officiate her marriage to a man. It is a condition that the marriage be conducted through her guardian from her own religion. If he marries her, whether she embraces Islam or remains Kitābī, he must oblige her to wear the ḥijāb, and he is not permitted to let her go out unveiled. He should not agree to marry her on a Sunday, as this entails affirming her reverence for the rituals of non-Muslims. He should strive to invite her to Islam, encourage her to embrace it, and facilitate the matter for her gradually. Her embracing Islam, even with her persistence in some objectionable practices, is better than her remaining in disbelief.
