What is the ruling regarding prayers in which the 'awrah was uncovered due to ignorance or inability to cover it, and must they be made up?
It is advisable to disregard whispers (of doubt). Covering the 'awrah (private parts) is a condition for the validity of prayer. If a small part of it becomes uncovered unintentionally, the prayer is not invalidated according to the preponderant opinion in the Hanbali school of thought. Similarly, a small amount of the 'awrah is excused, whether in extent or duration, even if it becomes uncovered by wind and the worshiper quickly covers it. However, if the severe 'awrah (front or back private parts) becomes uncovered, the prayer must be repeated. It is sunnah for one whose light 'awrah (non-severe) becomes uncovered to repeat the prayer within the prescribed time.
