Are the evening Adhkar said after the Asr prayer or after sunset (i.e., after the Maghrib prayer)?
Evening remembrances begin from the sun's decline (the beginning of Dhuhr prayer time) until its setting, and in the early part of the night. Morning remembrances begin from the appearance of dawn until the sun's decline. This is supported by the Almighty's saying: (And glorify [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting) [Taha/130], and His saying: (And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and fear without loudness in [your] words in the mornings and in the evenings) [Al-A'raf/205]. And Al-Aṣāl (evenings/late afternoon) is what is between Asr and Maghrib. And His saying: (So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning. * And to Him is [due all] praise in the heavens and the earth, and [upon your return] in the afternoon and when you reach noon) [Ar-Rum/17-18].
