Is it permissible to perform ablution (wudu') automatically and to dry oneself with modern devices, especially since this did not exist during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in addition to the greater consumption of energy used in drying, which some scholars consider reprehensible?

Wudu' is washing the face and hands, wiping the head, and washing the feet up to the ankles with pure water, accompanied by intention and sequence. Whenever the acts of wudu' commanded by Islamic law are performed, it is valid. The less water wasted, the closer it is to the Sunnah, and scholars disliked exceeding the ablution of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. As for drying oneself after wudu' and ghusl, it is permissible, and there is no difference between drying by traditional methods and modern means, especially when there is a need, for the basic principle regarding things is permissibility unless there is evidence to the contrary.
