This period begins from the first wipe after the nullification of ablution (hadath), not from wearing them, nor from the occurrence of hadath after wearing them. Purity is not invalidated by the expiry of the wiping period; rather, it is invalidated by the known nullifiers of ablution. If the period expires while you are in a state of impurity, you must repeat the prayers you performed after the expiry of the period without washing your feet. If the period expires while you are in a state of purity, you must repeat the prayers from the moment your ablution became invalid after the expiry of the period.
