Is what the questioner did, slaughtering a goat for her daughter with the intention of an 'aqiqah after a dream, a sound and good deed?

The 'aqiqah is a confirmed Sunnah (practice of the Prophet) that should be slaughtered on the seventh day; otherwise, on the fourteenth; otherwise, on the twenty-first. If someone misses these times, it is permissible to perform it whenever it is convenient for them, knowing that the reward for those who adhere to its specified time is more complete.
