What is the ruling on a pessimist who wishes for death, dislikes life, and says that we are merely cartoons with no control over ourselves?

A person's statement: "We human beings are mere cartoons, we do not control ourselves" is from the whisperings of Satan. One must seek refuge in Allah from it and not indulge in it. Allah created us and gave us will and volition with which we do what we wish. Whoever believes or disbelieves, or obeys or disobeys, does so by their will and volition. And Allah facilitates the paths and grants success to a person according to their taking of means. So, whoever takes the means of guidance strives for it, and Allah makes it easy for them. And whoever takes the means of misguidance should blame no one but themselves. Every person must strive to take the means of guidance and seek it, and stay away from its opposite.
