What should I do with my dear friend who has recently started uttering foul language?
It is among the duties of friendship to exhort one another to truth and patience, and to cooperate in righteousness and piety, as in the saying of Allah the Most High: [By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience], and His saying: [And cooperate in righteousness and piety, and do not cooperate in sin and aggression]. And in the Divine : "My love is guaranteed for those who love each other for My sake, and My love is guaranteed for those who maintain contact with each other for My sake, and My love is guaranteed for those who accompany each other for My sake." Therefore, you must strive to guide your friend and connect him to the mosques and the people of good, and assist him with beneficial books and tapes, and supplicate for him, and beware of deviation, and be keen to be influential and a guide to good, for in the Hadith: "For Allah to guide one man through you is better for you than red camels."
