What should I do regarding my friend whose deception I discovered after he had led me to believe in his good nature, and should I confront him with what I've learned, and how can I help him?

Love for the sake of Allah is great and a cause for abundant reward. It is enduring, unlike worldly relationships that can turn into enmity.

A Muslim should associate with the good and distance themselves from the wicked. A righteous companion is like the bearer of musk, while a bad companion is like the blower of bellows.

If the treachery and deceit of a friend become apparent, it is advisable to avoid them, for a person is upon the religion of their close friend.

However, if the friend is righteous but commits some mistakes, one should hold on to them and advise them, remembering that perfection belongs to Allah alone.

Helping those in need is permissible, even if you do not intend to befriend them, for a Muslim is the brother of a Muslim, and whoever relieves a Muslim of a worldly distress, Allah will relieve him of a distress on the Day of Resurrection.
