Must I live with my mother and leave my father and my brothers, or remain in my father's house, as he abuses me and prevents me from visiting my mother and from going out, especially with the arrival of Ramadan?

If a father harms his daughter and prevents her from visiting her mother, she is not obligated to stay with him, and it is permissible for her to move and live with her mother. What is legislated according to many scholars is that the daughter stays with her mother until she marries. This is the opinion of the Malikis, and it was preferred by Sheikh al-Islam and a group of verified scholars. Some jurists hold that she has a choice to reside with whomever she wishes, and this is the opinion of the Shafi'is. For those who hold that the daughter should be with her father, they do not permit him to prevent her from visiting her mother or to prevent the mother from visiting her.
