Was Moses's uncle Korah, and if not, then who was he?

Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar in "Fath al-Bari" and Al-Ayni in "Umdat al-Qari" mentioned different opinions regarding the kinship between Qaran and Musa (peace be upon him). The most preponderant opinion is that he was Musa's paternal cousin, a view held by Ibn Abbas, Qatadah, and Ibrahim al-Nakha'i. It was also said that he was his maternal cousin, or his paternal uncle.
