Is it permissible to take a percentage of the discount (5%, for example) from the price of an item purchased for another person online using a discount code, when the buyer is aware of the original price but unaware of the existence of the discount?

It is not permissible to take a commission except with the permission of your associates, because you are their agent in the purchase, and every gift or discount due to the purchase is attached to the contract and belongs to the principal, not to the agent.
