One can refer to Fatwas number 33781 and 54742 to learn about the symptoms of possession (mass) and magic (sihr). However, it is advised not to preoccupy oneself with the possibility of possession or magic to avoid psychological problems. One must stay away from forbidden acts () and be diligent in what helps achieve this, such as marriage and fasting, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it helps lower the gaze and guard one's chastity. And whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, for it is a shield for him." One can also perform the legitimate mentioned in number 79244.
