Is the method of publishing a Quranic verse daily for seven days, with the nomination of another person each day, an innovated practice, especially given the existence of other posts calling for charitable donations by collecting money in exchange for likes and comments on Facebook?

Scholars believe that the guidance of the Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the best. Therefore, people should be reminded of the virtues of reciting the Qur'an and mentioning the verses and surahs that have special merit, as well as other virtuous deeds in general, supporting this with texts from the Qur'an and Sunnah and the words of scholars. As for linking remembrance and exhortation to the number of likes or comments on posts, scholars believe that these methods carry the risk of falling into an innovative bid'ah (religious innovation). Linking charity to the number of likes or comments may distance one from religion and lead to showing off. Therefore, abandoning these methods is safer. It is better to follow the method of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the righteous predecessors in offering advice and remembrance.
