The answer

The maid is an employee [hired hand], and she deserves the food agreed upon in the contract, or what is customary. It is not a condition that it be the same as the employer's food. It is recommended to have the maid sit and eat with them if she has prepared the food, or to give her a mouthful or two if the food is scarce. If the maid is given the food agreed upon and she suffers no harm, then there is no sin upon the employer; otherwise, there is. There is no obedience to the mother if she prevents the maid from what is due to her.
