The Imam's supplication after the funeral prayer, and the people's 'Ameen,' is not legislated, for the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. The Sunnah is to supplicate for the deceased after he is placed in the grave, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did. As for walking with the funeral procession, the majority are of the opinion that it is preferable to walk in front of it. If riding, then it is preferable to be behind it, according to the Malikis and Hanbalis.
