Who is the Companion whose name was mentioned in the Qur'an?
The only Companion whose name is mentioned in the Quran is Zayd ibn Harithah, as stated in Allah’s saying: "So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you so that there would be no difficulty for the believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they no longer have any need for them. And Allah’s command is always fulfilled." (Al-Ahzab: 37). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, married Zaynab bint Jahsh after Zayd, in order to abolish the pre-Islamic practice of adoption.
