ما هي الإسرائيليات؟

Isra'iliyyat refers to narratives and reports transmitted from the Children of Israel. These should not be wholeheartedly believed or disbelieved, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not believe the People of the Book, nor disbelieve them." It is permissible to narrate them for admonition and exhortation, as long as their falsity is not known, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Narrate from the Children of Israel, and there is no harm."
