Why do some scholars issue fatwas that a wife is not obligated to spend on her husband, home, and children, even if she is wealthier than him, and that maintenance is solely the husband’s duty, despite the Prophet (peace be upon him) stating, "A woman is married for four things: her wealth..." as one of the motives for marriage, considering that her work might be at the expense of time with her husband, children, and home? And is it true that money earned from her work after marriage must be spent, unlike inherited wealth?

For a woman to be married for her wealth does not mean that the husband has dominion over it. Wealth has other purposes, such as his inheritance from her, or its reaching their children. She may also intend sufficiency from demanding maintenance from him, and not for him to enjoy her wealth. The wife's wealth is her exclusive right, and the husband must provide for her even if she is wealthy. He has no right to her wealth unless she willingly offers it to him, or if he stipulates a portion of her salary in exchange for allowing her to work.
