What is the ruling on taking the money scattered by the bride on the Henna night?

What is given as a gift to one of the spouses is considered a gift to him or her, and he or she is expected to reciprocate it, as custom dictates and evidence shows that the giver intends for a reciprocal gift when an occasion arises that calls for it, as mentioned by Al-Baji in "Manh Al-Jalil" and Ibn Al-Attar. The Muslim's intention behind gifts should be to assist his brothers and sisters and bring joy to them, not to boast or be extravagant.
