What is the ruling on a father distinguishing between his children in gifts, by covering all the marriage expenses of his male children, furnishing their homes, and registering them in their names, while refusing to furnish his daughters' homes or contribute to their housing?

The ruling adopted by us is the obligation of equality between children, male and female, in gifts and endowments, unless there is a need that necessitates favoritism. What a father spends on marrying off his children in a reasonable manner is considered an expenditure, not a gift that requires equality. A father transferring ownership of apartments to sons without daughters is a preference for the sons in a gift, and this is an injustice in which he must be equitable. Daughters have the right to demand equality from their father in gifts. Nevertheless, all children must honor their father and treat him kindly, and his right to honor is not forfeited by his injustice.
