Is it permissible to share in a sacrifice prepared for a wedding feast with the intention of it being an Uḍḥiyah (sacrificial animal offered during Eid al-Adha), and would one thereby attain the full reward of the Uḍḥiyah?

First: The wedding feast (walima) is achieved by offering any food. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave a feast with two measures (mudds) of barley. There is no minimum limit for the walima according to jurists; the intention is to feed people.

Second: In the sacrifice (udhiyah), it is permissible for a seventh of a camel or a seventh of a cow to be sufficient.

Third: It is permissible to share a cow or a camel even if some of the participants do not intend it as an udhiyah but rather want the meat for a walima or other purposes. Each share is sufficient for its owner, and the intention of others does not invalidate it.
