Whoever dies from an abdominal illness like colon cancer or regular cancer is hoped to be a martyr, according to the hadith: "The one who dies from an abdominal illness is a martyr." This applies to someone who dies from tuberculosis. However, death from diabetes or liver disease is not considered martyrdom unless it falls under the category of "abdominal illness." There is no evidence that someone who dies blind, deaf, or mute is considered a martyr.
