Is the transformation of love for companions into hatred, given my knowledge that they are bad companions, due to my sins?

We cannot be certain about the reason for their hatred towards you, but sins and disobedience are among the most significant causes of estrangement between believers. For no two people who love each other for the sake of Allah are separated except due to a sin committed by one of them. We advise you to associate with good and pious people, and to beware of befriending bad companions. For the likeness of a good companion is that of a musk seller, and the bad companion is like the blower of the bellows.
